SNOW DAY!!!

We have been hearing on the news that we would be getting a Christmas Day blizzard...in Arkansas, we don't typically have blizzards, haha, but we decided we should go ahead and head home from Tennessee just in case. I was a nervous wreck driving home as I checked the weather and road conditions constantly. I truly believe that God was watching over us because as I thought it was about to hit us hard, the weather forecast said that a "hole in the storm had opened up", so I told Jacob to drive fast! We drove in pouring rain the entire trip, and as we took our exit to head home, sleet and ice started hitting our car hard! We noticed as we drove into town that all of the power was out at stop lights, gas stations, churches, etc. However, when we got home, we had power! I was a happy Mommy with a warm house and we were all home safely! I was anxious to see what the morning would look like when I went to sleep because the snow was coming down hard! We woke up this morning and Jacob measured our front yard...12-13" of SNOW!!!! That is considered an Arkansas blizzard! haha

Bailey and Griffin about to conquer the deep snow....Griffin ready to go, Bailey was already unsure!

I love those blue eyes!

Jacob trying to help Bailey warm up to the idea of snow!

Our Princess decided she would just ride....Griffin insisted on helping pull her!

I love my little eskimo!

He kept belly flopping into the snow!

hahahaha....we really are good parents...making memories with our delicate little girl!

She was much happier in the dry garage..in Griffin's truck (not her car)

Such a hard worker!

While B and G napped, Jacob built Snow-Bailey and Snow-Griffin!

Our backyard...beautiful, but I don't want it to break our new fence!!

Jackson, Joe, and Amie Wallis have come over for a sleepover tonight...they have no power, along with most of Cabot, so it's sleepover time! :)

It has been a beautiful, lazy snow day! I have loved watching their reactions to the snow...as well as getting to spend some unexpected time with good friends! Now I just hope everyone else gets their power back and everyone stays safe!!! Happy Blizzard 2012!

Christmas 2012 Part 1

This year, it was our year to be with Jacob's family for Christmas, so we traveled to Tennessee for our Christmas adventure. Bailey and Griffin were so good on the trip there...I think they were more patient than we were considering a 5 hour trip took us about 6 and a half because of traffic and road construction. However, since we were in the Christmas spirit, it was okay! haha

This Christmas was very different than last Christmas having 18 month olds instead of the 6 month olds we had last year! While they still weren't into posing for pictures, and weren't overly interested in the present opening, I think they still had a great time. It was great getting to spend time with Gran, Papa, Aunt Jessie, Uncle David, Aunt Jenna, and their sweet cousin, Andrew.

Griffin LOVED putting sprinkles on his cookies!

This was the look when we told him we were done decorating cookies! I love the many facial expressions he has!

I love my sweet babies (technically toddlers)!

Griffin got more into it than Bailey did!

Pretty lights...and the only way that we could get all 3 in a picture!

Griffin was amazed by the lights and I told him they were hot so he wouldn't touch them....so he blew on them! :)

Griffin didn't want to sleep, so we read a Christmas story....it was a Christmas miracle because he sat for the ENTIRE STORY!

Bailey's loot from Santa!

Griffin did pretty well too! Thank you Santa!

Stockings are one of my favorite things!

We finally made it home after a stressful drive with snow on the way....we literally pulled in the driveway and it started snowing hard! Bailey and Griffin looked out the window in amazement at the snow and were looking forward to playing it it!!The snow fun post will come later....

Merry Christmas!
