Griffin and Bailey Go on a Road Trip!

As I talked about in my last post, on Halloween night, Jacob started feeling pretty bad. By the time we got home from our church's Fall Festival, he had 103 temperature. When you mix that with "being sick" all night and not being able to swallow the next morning, you know it's never good! We made him stay in the bedroom so I could keep B & G away from him....he did watch us play and have bath time on the monitor so he didn't feel completely removed! :) On Thursday morning, he headed to the doctor, who informed him that he had strep throat. I have a huge fear that one of us is going to get something and we will never get rid of it, so B, G, and I had a sleepover at our friends house so that we would be out of our germy house! :) We also decided that it'd be good for Bailey and Griffin to head to my parents house for the weekend so that I could disinfect our house and to give Jacob time to get over this! I felt bad to send them without me, but I don't think they were on bit upset!

They have a love for going up stairs, but our house doesn't have any. When you don't have stairs, but you love them, what does their Poppy do??? He builds them a set of stairs!! Spoiled rotten! :)

Griffin having a blast and checking out the stairs!

Poppy (or Boppy) helping Bailey join the fun!

She's not sure what to think!

Griffin runs EVERYWHERE! This little boy never slows down!

Such good helpers!

What's more fun that riding in the wheel barrow?

Tough guy!

This one just makes me laugh!

I love that little smirk!

Bailey loves giving kisses...Griffin doesn't always love receiving them!

Bailey's so impressed with her "big brothers" muscles!

Thought this one needed a little black and white!

After playing hard outside, it was time to read a book with Bebe!

They had a great time and I'm so grateful to my parents for offering to take them for the weekend. On Sunday, after all laundry was done, all sheets were cleaned, my husband was healthy, the house was cleaned, their closets were cleaned out, etc., I felt my sanity slowly coming back! Being a mom of twin one year olds is very rewarding, but extremely emotionally and mentally draining at times! I think this weekend made me realize that it's okay to "take a break" when needed to regain control over life...and I'm glad my babies had so much fun while I took that break! :)

Halloween!

This Halloween was a little tiring, but it sure was fun to watch Bailey and Griffin in their cute costumes! Jacob wasn't feeling good...and Griffin wasn't in the mood for pictures, but we survived! We went to our church's Fall Festival this year, and only stayed about an hour, but had a great time!

Our little piglet...she was SO proud of herself! She didn't try to take her hat off even once!

This cute little cow, on the other hand, did not want his cow hat on! He also didn't want to pose for Mommy to take any pictures!

Our farm family...it's the best we could get!

Mommy and her little pig!

She got the hang of this really quickly!

Griffin was mesmerized by some cool light up toys!

Checking it all out!

On to the games...if it involves a ball, Griffin is all about it!

He figured out really fast where the candy was!

The other little candy thief...she kept going for the Pixie Sticks...I've got to train her better! haha

Bailey was deciding if she wanted to play the apple game...and she never let go of that candy bucket!

Friends...Griffin, Bailey, Jackson, Tucker, and Carter

Bobbing for apples!

Right after this game, Daddy said that he didn't feel good, so we headed home! When we got home, he had 103 fever, was up all night sick, and then ended up with strep throat! What an adventurous week it was!!

Happy Halloween 2012!

A Birthday Party, Bailey's First Haircut, and Eating with Forks!

Well, that was one of the most random titles to a blog post ever!! :) This is kind of a catch up post, since Mommy hasn't been the best blogger lately!

Last weekend, one of Bailey and Griffin's friends, Cale, had her 2nd birthday party. It was at a park in town, and we love going to the park! They both had a blast!

Such a big girl!

Teamwork going down the slide!

Our future gymnast!

Sweet girl!

Our little monkey!

He's such a mess!

Bailey and Griffin thought they'd play a little tic-tac-toe!

After the birthday party, Daddy and Griffin went home, and Bailey and Mommy headed to get her first haircut. It wasn't too long, but it was VERY uneven, so it was time for a little trim! I took her to the same place we went for Griffin's first haircut, and she also did a great job!!!

Bailey being such a good girl...but unsure about what's happening!

She kept her head down the whole time...she's become a bashful little thing!

My sweet girl would NOT smile...everyone in there was laughing at her!

Sweet little curls!

She was strutting around showing off her new hairdo! :)

Now I'll smile!

After our last checkup, our doctor asked us if they were independently using a fork...and the answer was no! It just hadn't really occurred to me to let them do it because I know what a mess it will be! haha Since she asked, we decided to try it out that night!

Success! After a little practice, Bailey did a great job using her fork. She sometimes preferred to give us her fork, let us put the food on it, then she wanted it back to put in her mouth herself!

Griffin had a blast stabbing his food! He picked it up VERY quickly and ate by himself the whole time!

This is great!! He was showing off his "happy plate"...the boy eats everything!

Messy face, but SO cute! :)

After our messy dinner, we had baths and then got into our monogrammed robes (thanks to Mrs. Terri McDaniel)! haha

Check out those blue eyes!

I love a clean baby!

Cozy and cuddling...well sort of cuddling!

He thought it was so funny!

Love the facial expression!

It's been extremely busy, but fun! My next post will be on our Halloween experience! :)

Splish, Splash, We're Taking a Bath!

Bath time is one of the highlights of our day around our house! I can ask Bailey or Griffin if they want to take a bath...or just turn on the bath water...and they take off to the bathtub! There are many nights that I am soaked when we are done, but those giggles are all worth it! Here are some pictures of one of our favorite adventures...

These two are trouble!

For all of you who don't believe me that Little Miss has quite the attitude...here's the picture to prove it!

She's a mess!

Griffin can splash and thinks it's the funniest thing!

You've entered the splash zone...and we think it's hilarious!

Griffin's not sure what to think about this hairdo!

Pretty girl!

"Whew, bath time is hard work!"
