Griffin and Bailey Go on a Road Trip!

As I talked about in my last post, on Halloween night, Jacob started feeling pretty bad. By the time we got home from our church's Fall Festival, he had 103 temperature. When you mix that with "being sick" all night and not being able to swallow the next morning, you know it's never good! We made him stay in the bedroom so I could keep B & G away from him....he did watch us play and have bath time on the monitor so he didn't feel completely removed! :) On Thursday morning, he headed to the doctor, who informed him that he had strep throat. I have a huge fear that one of us is going to get something and we will never get rid of it, so B, G, and I had a sleepover at our friends house so that we would be out of our germy house! :) We also decided that it'd be good for Bailey and Griffin to head to my parents house for the weekend so that I could disinfect our house and to give Jacob time to get over this! I felt bad to send them without me, but I don't think they were on bit upset!

They have a love for going up stairs, but our house doesn't have any. When you don't have stairs, but you love them, what does their Poppy do??? He builds them a set of stairs!! Spoiled rotten! :)

Griffin having a blast and checking out the stairs!

Poppy (or Boppy) helping Bailey join the fun!

She's not sure what to think!

Griffin runs EVERYWHERE! This little boy never slows down!

Such good helpers!

What's more fun that riding in the wheel barrow?

Tough guy!

This one just makes me laugh!

I love that little smirk!

Bailey loves giving kisses...Griffin doesn't always love receiving them!

Bailey's so impressed with her "big brothers" muscles!

Thought this one needed a little black and white!

After playing hard outside, it was time to read a book with Bebe!

They had a great time and I'm so grateful to my parents for offering to take them for the weekend. On Sunday, after all laundry was done, all sheets were cleaned, my husband was healthy, the house was cleaned, their closets were cleaned out, etc., I felt my sanity slowly coming back! Being a mom of twin one year olds is very rewarding, but extremely emotionally and mentally draining at times! I think this weekend made me realize that it's okay to "take a break" when needed to regain control over life...and I'm glad my babies had so much fun while I took that break! :)

  1. Oh my, they're getting SO big! I still think Bailey looks a lot like Hannah. Glad you got a much needed break last weekend :)
